GLOBAL TRENDS IN DISTANCE EDUCATION AND PROSPECTS FOR UKRAINE

Abstract
The modern world trends in education discussed in our proposed article. The state and trends of distance education abroad and in Ukraine. The prospects of the development of distance education in Ukraine and related features considered. Determined negative effects which may cause lag in distance learning. Outlined directions for accelerating the development of distance education in Ukraine. It was established that the modern online courses are widely implemented and used in the educational process of universities around the world. This distance learning system does not replace the traditional system of higher education, but complements it; and at the same time has an impact on the development of education throughout the world and Ukraine in particular. Therefore, the introduction of modern online courses helps improve the Ukrainian system of higher education.
