Glory to relativism

Abstract

The phenomenon of social relativism, which becomes one of the most important characteristics of post-modern contemporaneity, is analyzed in the paper. It is stated that individualism exhausts itself in the same way as the gregarious isolation typical of the time, which, at last, cedes to communality. The communal nature of knowledge, its transiency, ephemerality, connection with a concrete moment (“karios”) and a necessity of combining knowledge and real life of the community that is not unanimous. The author calls to renounce the Cartesian dualism in favor of pre- and post-modernist trialism. The plurality of the ways of existence and thinking, polyculturalism, being in the dialogic relation with polytheism of values, requires relations and correlations of various methods and scientific approaches characteristic of communication logic that is developing now. All these, in the author’s opinion, will determine the post-modernist noosphere.
