Abstract
Today it is difficult to imagine the functioning of armed forces responsible for order in the society without a proper level of public trust. Any public organizations are constantly under close scrutiny of public opinion. Information irresponsibly delivered results in the decrease of trust and other effects difficult to repair. Therefore, in each public organization, the military including, one of the most important tasks is to create an appropriate public opinion. Some organizations have Public affairs, some - Media Relations departments. In the Polish practice of organization management there is no coherence referring to the name and tasks of the mentioned above units. The only thing in common is the possibility of a press officer’s position.
