Hundred years of Polish chemical fibres (1911-2011). A reflection

Abstract
The article describes the history of polish fibers industry. The industry in Poland started with the foundation, in 1911, of one of the first in Europe factory of chemical fibers. Its development took place from 1945 to 1975. The political and social environment promoted focus on quantity development, without appropriate quality process at the same time. Increasing technology delay and production gaps were main sources of low efficiency and finally resulted into liquidation. The liquidation of the industry took place in 90s.
