Hydrogeological conditions of the Latosówka-Rudniki limestone and marl deposit in Rudniki near Częstochowa

Abstract
Rudniki Cement Plant at Rudniki village is supplied with carbonates by the nearby located Latosówka open pit. Intense drainage of the upper Jurassic aquifer due to limestone and marl exploitation has changed the hydrodynamic field creating a depression cone recharged by the Warta River. The planned production increase will cause further development of the depression zone, mainly towards the north and west, resulting in the increase of water inflow to the mine dewatering system, estimated by numerical modelling.
