Abstract
Given the different approaches regarding the historical importance and legal primacy of some documents created during the Romanian Revolution of December 1989, the present study aimed to analyze the content of these documents and the context in which they were developed, the main goal being the identification of the ideals and the popular aspirations contained in the programmatic documents of the Romanian Revolution of December 1989. Once these aspects were clarified, the second stage of the research was dedicated to the analysis of the way in which the revolutionary ideals were transposed in the normative acts and governing decisions adopted between 26-31 December 1989. Of course, all this after a prior clarification of the wide range of opinions expressed in the specialized doctrine regarding the meaning and importance of the ideals of the Revolution of December 1989 in the effort to establish a new legal regime in Romania.
