Influence of Kindergarten Program on the Preparedness of Pupils: Basis for the Development of Enrichment Materials

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the influence of kindergarten program on the preparedness of Grade 1 pupils in District I-B, Antipolo City. Descriptive survey method of research was utilized using questionnaire as data gathering instrument.It was found out that the kindergarten program has influenced the preparedness of pupils to a superior extent in terms of social skills, emotional stability and learning abilities as regards to reading, writing, and counting as perceived by the teacher-respondents. Meanwhile, the parent-respondents perceived the influence of the program on the preparedness of the pupils to a very satisfactory extent relative to social skills, emotional stability and learning abilities in terms of reading and superior extent in terms of writing and counting. Also, the results showed that in terms of social skills, emotional stability and learning abilities in terms of reading, writing and counting, there is a significant difference between the perceptions of the parent and teacher on the preparedness of the pupils.Furthermorfoode enrichment materials that can be developed to improve the preparedness of pupils in terms of emotional stability and social skills are poster making, drawing, dramatic play, preparing foods, and variety of activities and games that are suited to their ages.
