Influence of Philosophical and Religious Paradigms on the Formation and Development of Catholic Sacred Music Art: Patristic and Early Middle Ages Period

Abstract
The research deals with religious sacred musical art as one of the ways of forming the minds of believers and influence on them. Because art does not exist apart from the social and cultural processes, it is subjected to impact by indirectly or directly. Therefore, to make the philosophical and religious analysis of Catholic sacred music is important to identify those philosophical and religious paradigms, which to some extent have made impact on the formation and development of Catholic sacred art music. The materials of the research are monographs, dissertations and articles from the perspective of Catholic sacred music. The scientific method used in analysis, synthesis, description, mapping to define the principles of the basic ideas and traditions that influenced on formation and development of Catholic sacred music. The results obtained in the article describe the features of the philosophical and religious discourse patristic and Early Middle Ages, under the influence of which formed and developed Catholic sacred music tradition. The analysis of the influence of religion and philosophy of music as a cultural phenomenon and as a means of understanding of Christian truths, values and lifestyle. It is shown how those or other philosophical and religious trends, tendencies, ideas and traditions reflected in Catholic sacred art music. The conclusions made the origins of the influence of religion or philosophy on the formation and consciousness of Catholic sacred music traditions lies in the very essence of Christianity: the desire for inner perfection, which is the following of Christ in union with God, achieved unity with God through sanctifying grace that includes all aspects of Christian life; Musical art of the Catholic Church during the patristic and Early Middle Ages were affected by these religious and philosophical ideas, trends and traditions: theocentrism, asceticism, the ancient Christian Platonism and Neo-Platonism, medieval scholasticism.
