INTENTIONAL SEVERE BODILY INJURY COMMITTED IN A WAY CHARACTERIZED BY EXTREME TORMENT

Abstract
The analysis of the terminological word-combination “extreme torment”, which is used by the legislator when forming a qualified type of intentional severe bodily injury, is carried out in the article. The author summarizes the scientific approaches to the definition and correlation of the concepts “torment”, “extreme torment”, “torture”, “particular violence”. Special attention is paid to the problems of qualification of intentional severe bodily injury, committed in a way that has the nature of extreme torment; the judicial practice on the subject has also been analyzed.
