ІНТЕРЕС ЯК ПСИХОЛОГО-ПЕДАГОГІЧНА ПРОБЛЕМА У ТВОРЧІЙ СПАДЩИНІ Л. ВИГОТСЬКОГО ТА Г. ШАРРЕЛЬМАНА

Abstract
The article deals with the views of L. Vyhotskyi and H. Scharrelmann on the role of interest in the educational process. The comparison of the opinions of researchers, far from each other in time and space, is interesting because works of L. Vyhotskyi provide a theoretical substantiation of the psychological foundations of the educational process, while H. Scharrelmann came to a similar conclusion in the process of long-term teaching practice. Both researchers have a negative attitude to the traditional school of resistance to external motivation (coercion, assessment), because it disassociates the student, promotes the loss of interest in learning and is the reason for low productivity. The authors distinguish between interest as an end in itself and interest as a means, and defend the interest as a means as a natural engine of the child’s behaviour, an effective means of forming a positive attitude towards learning and activating the independent activity of a student who receives satisfaction in the course of this activity. L. Vyhotskyi and H. Scharrelmann pay attention to the activity nature of interest: the activity and initiative (which the child shows in order to satisfy its own interests) are an impulse for the development of its creative powers; contribute to the emergence and deepening of new interests. Researchers highly appreciate the interest as a lever of personality development, the basis of creative attitude to reality and therefore consider it an effective means of optimizing the educational process. Scientists consider the task of the teacher accordingly to his ability to call and support students’ interest in the learning process. The article also points out the difference of views of both authors, because L. Vyhotskyi, in contrast to H. Scharrelmann, does not absolutize the importance of the role of interest in the educational process and emphasizes the need to direct spontaneous children’s interests in the right direction. The article also presents the forms of organization of educational activities according to the age of pupils and the tasks of the teacher at each stage in the Bremen Schools of H. Scharrelmann.
