Interference of information processing in spatial visualization

Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 10

Abstract

Objective To explore the interference effect of simultaneous processing of different spatial information in spatial visualization, so as to provide reference for pilot psychological selection and training. Methods A simplified spatial visualization dynamic test was designed, and 31 undergraduate students from Air Force Medical University were recruited to participate in the test. Repeated measures analysis of variance was used to examine the effects of motion direction and angle setting on accuracy of motion time estimation and angle recognition. Results The effects of motion direction and angle setting on the accuracy of motion time estimation were statistically significant, and there was no interaction between motion direction and angle setting. The effects of motion direction and angle setting on the accuracy of angle recognition were statistically significant, and there was no interaction between motion direction and angle setting. Conclusion Among the military college students, different spatial information processing cannot be effectively separated in spatial visualization, so more attention should be paid to this issue in pilot selection and training design.
