Investigations of the inhibition of lignin on enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulase

Abstract
Based on the research of the inhibition mechanism of lignin on cellulase hydrolysis, such as steric hindrance and non-productive adsorption, the paper focused on the effects of pretreatment, lignin distribution in substrate, molecular weight, functional groups and chemical bonds of lignin, modified lignin and lignin phenolic derivatives on the inhibition of enzymatic hydrolysis. The effect of different types of lignin on reducing the inhibition of enzymatic hydrolysis was investigated. Combined with advanced technical analysis means, effective measures were taken to realize tthe targeted regulation of lignin structure for mitigating the negative impact of lignin and reducing the cost of cellulase. Finally, in view of the problems such as the cost of pretreatment and the effect of pretreatment on environment, the opportunities and challenges of the green and efficient enzymatic hydrolysis technology were proposed.
