Iranian-Islamic Identity: Discourse Analysis
Journal Title: The Journal of Human Rights - Year 2018, Vol 13, Issue 1
Abstract
Historically, the concept of "social identity" has a pivotal role in theories of social psychology and sociological theories. Postmodern perspective in particular characterizes identity as fluid and changing, because identity is assumed to be discursive. The identity of each nation is directly related to its culture. Before Iranian constitutionalism, Iranian culture had two parts: Iranian and Islamic, but after encountering modernity, two socialist and liberal elements were added to it.
