Abstract
The intelligence power which constitutes the upmost stage of humanitarian faculties defines thinking and understanding faculty which gains him “human” feature and it distinguishes him from other living beings. Functions and the nature of intelligence, dating from systematic period of ancient age, has been one of the basic problematics of philosophical thinking. Aristoteles had been a pioneer by leaving a characteristic influence on formalizing intellectual theories of both Christian scholastics and Islamic peripatetists. This studying deals with peripatetic intellectual theory which began with Aristoteles and reached to peak with İbn Sina and thoughts of Mulla Sadra, who was the most significant sophisticated figure of Safavid Iran, on nature of intellectual.
