Issues of Taxation of Cryptocurrencies

Abstract
The article addresses issues of taxation of cryptocurrencies (in particular bitcoins) in Poland and in some other countries. The author focuses on current problems of taxation of cryptocurrency transactions based on tax regulations and their interpretations according to Polish and international law. The aim of the article is to present tax consequences related to cryptocurrency trading and to analyze problems that would require the introduction of separate tax regulations regarding cryptocurrencies. The analysis is based on a review of the literature, tax laws, interpretations of the Ministry of Finance and rulings of the Administrative Court concerning the taxation of cryptocurrency trading.
