Key Technologies of Vehicle Base Station Design for Suspended Monorail Transit

Abstract

[Objective] The overall plane layout of the suspended monorail transit vehicle base directly affects train′s operation and engineering cost. The turnout type selection has a great influence on the overall layout of the depot, and the selection of single line train position number in the depot also directly affects the number of turnouts and the scale of the depot. Therefore, it is necessary to make in-depth research on the key technologies for the depot layout design. [Method] Based on the Longquanshan Vehicle Base of suspended monorail transit project in Wuhan Optics Valley Ecological Corridor, its overall plane layout and innovation points are introduced. The turnout type selection and the formulation of the field elevation in the depot are analyzed, and a model of single line train position number under ideal condition is established. [Result & Conclusion] The overall plane layout of the suspended monorail vehicle base should adopt the through type train washing scheme, and the access line is suitable for the train washing location. The aesthetics of bridge pier layout should be considered in the throat design. It is necessary to cooperate with turnout manufacturers to speed up the research and development of three-way turnout and five-way turnout, and rationally select different turnout groups to further save the investment; under ideal conditions without considering other operation interference, up to 5 train positions on a single line can be adopted in the suspension monorail depot. In the actual design process, the proper single line train position number is selected considering the factors such as the vehicle base condition, the train exit convenience and other operation interference.
