Laparoscopy cholecystectomy impact in Mayabeque province

Abstract

Introduction:laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the gold standar in gallbladder lithiasis treatment. Objective: to determine the impact of ambulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Materials and methods: a retrospective longitudinal descriptive observational study was made at Teaching General Hospital LeopolditoMartínez from San José de lasLajas was made, in the period of January 2017 to December 2019. The universe was constituted by 609 operated patients through ambulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the hospital. There were analized socio-demographics variables, associated patients diseases, trans- and postoperative complications, and mortality. It was made a datta base in SPSS ant the variables were processed through the descriptive statistics. Results: there was predomination of female sex (81,2 %), 40-59 yearsold group (39 %); and Ischaemialcardiopathy (24,2 %), Hypertension (23,4 %) and Obesity (18,7 %) as associated diseases. Main transoperative complications were gallbladder opening with streaming of biles (37,7 %), abundant bed gallbladder bleeding (33,9 %) and gallbladder opening with streaming of biles and gallstones (15 %). The most frequent post-operative complications were serome (58,3 %) and superficial infection of surgical site (25 %). Mortality was low (0,1 %). Conclusions: ambulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy had a positive impact in Mayabeque province, in the period of time studied due to the lower incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications.
