LEARNING ENVIRONMENT CHANGE THROUGH INTEGRATING VIDEO LESSONS AND MOODLE-TESTTOOL SYSTEM

Abstract

Social, technical and economic changes as well as the growing mobility of the society create a need to relate part of the learning process with the changing learning needs and to move it into virtual learning environments (VLE). Hence, the learning process takes places simultaneously in both traditional learning environments and information and communication technology-based learning environments. The article presents a learning environment designed for art classes, supplemented with video lessons and the Moodle-TestTool system graphical models. It develops not only subject-related, but also general competences such as learning, communication and computer literacy skills. The article emphasises the structure, features and opportunities of the learning environment for art classes, supplemented with information and communication technology. Regular learning environment, if supplemented with video lessons and TestTool tasks as well as integrated with virtual learning environments, are able to meet learning needs and ensure favourable psychological, didactic and organisational conditions. A learning environment that offers the opportunity to use necessary sources at any time, control the learning process, choose the form of learning, self-control and self-assessment allows students to learn from their experience and mistakes, increases their self-confidence, encourages them to plan the learning process and make decisions leading to the achievement of their learning aims. Students’ painting (creative) skills improved significantly using the complete e. learning cycle.
