LEGAL MECHANISM OF REINFORCEMENT OF THE SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE STRUGGLE FOR INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE IN THE XX CENTURY

Abstract
Legislation regarding legal status and social guarantees of the fighters for Ukraine’s independence in the XX century is reviewed in the paper. The main shortcomings and gaps in the current legislation are identified, the ways of overcoming them are shown. The mechanism of organizational and legal provision of social protection of former soldiers of the OUN and the UPA, as well as other armed groups, was determined. The features of the functioning of a new state body that pursues the state policy regarding the fighters for the independence of Ukraine are shown.
