Abstract
The article analyzes legal views and concepts of ancient Sumerians and Babylonians regarding the matters of evidence and proof. The author has come to the conclusion that ancient civilizations of the Mesopotamian peoples – along with the other ones – were among the primary sources that formed the subsequent concepts of the rules of evidence.
