Abstract
The article discusses the characteristic features of the state-forming processes that took place in Galicia in the second half of the XIX centuries. The region, which turned into a hotbed of Ukrainian national-political revival, was transformed under the influence of the Habsburg legal system, and the system of parliamentary influenced the basic concepts of state thought. Attention is focused on the main aspects of the formation and functioning of the regional Diet. The characteristic features of legal perception and legal culture of the Galician Ukrainians, who, thanks to the Diet, began to actively defend their rights, are considered. It is argued that the Galician Diet was an important and constitutive stage of the national tradition of parliamentary.
