MACROECONOMIC ASPECTS OF CSD INDICATORS
Journal Title: Acta Economica - Year 2008, Vol 6, Issue 8
Abstract
Accelerated economic development, uncontrolled exploitation of resources and devastation of the environment, throw out into the first plan those aspects of the social relations that deal with the problems of sustainable growth and development. These researches are inconceivable without the standards and parameters of establishing the quantity and quality of sustainability. Most frequently they are the complex indicators, which determine the achieved level and dynamism of the sustainable growth and development. Evolution of the multifunctional indicators is followed by the continued adding and “overloading” with the new indicators, usually of noneconomic origin (physical, biological, chemical or other). That leads to dilemmas related to their treatment and classification, as the economic or dominantly economic indicators. Economic growth and development are the exclusive economic themes, whilst the sustainability of development is only their modern modification. It is apostrophized in this work that different macroeconomic aspects between the classical and the model of sustainable development are before all in the distribution sector, that is, in that part of the national “output”, which can be put into the function of sustainable development, not disrupting the key parameters of macroeconomic balance on that occasion. This fact especially relates to the state of internal and external competitiveness, budget stability, growth rates etc. Because, although the sustainability is determined by the new standards of conduct, their implementation is not possible without changes or reductions of production, or without the growth of general expenses, occurrence of the new budget burdens and similar. That’s why the causative relations between the measures of sustainability and economic potentials of social community can be ignored in no way. Part of the DBP which can be set aside for financing the sustainable growth and development is determined on the basis of them as well. That means the sustainable development is after all dominantly economic manifestation and it will be that more and more. Complex of CSD indicators is one of the most optimal and internationally legalized indicators of the sustainable development state. CSD indicators are, although burdened by numerous other social and natural indicators, dominantly economic, because they contain the segments of respectable macroeconomic analyses of the total potentials and flows of the national economy, and of the state of key macroeconomic aggregates as well. However, it should be stressed, that the objectives put forward in the sphere of the sustainable development must be conceived on the realizable, but not ideal state, which is in great measure connected with the present state of development of the production forces. Therefore, it is unquestionable the measures of sustainable development are strongly incorporated into the economic science, the role and content of CSD indicators speak about what as well, by which the hypothesis on domination of economic component in them is unquestionably proved.
