Macrolides in the treatment of genitourinary system infections

Abstract
Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common bacterial pathogen transmitted sexually. It causes non-gonoccocal urethra infectious in males. Ureaplasma urealiticum is frequently isolated microorganism from genitourinary tract in humans, however, it is thought that about 20% NGU is related to infection will this bacterium. These bacteria are significantly susceptible to macrolides. Roxithromycin shows high efficacy and azithromycin was well tolerated. Gynecologists are often obliged to diagnose SDI and their effect on early pregnancy and decide on the treatment. Macrolides are a group of safe and efficient drugs against microorganism. Indications cover a wide range of prophylaxis and therapy.
