Journal Title: International Journal of Management Sciences - Year 2015, Vol 6, Issue 9

Abstract

Every public gathering is a serious event for public or private administration. All necessary logistic support must be arranged to successfully complete the event otherwise there may be chaos, quarrel, sufferings, even death of participants because of mismanagement. But in religious event all participants work as volunteers and with a very insignificant preparation the event is managed effectively. Annual congregation at Shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal is such an event where thousands of people arrived at comparatively very small area. Performance of their religious duties as per their believes need at least two days on an average where shrine authorities take negligible initiatives to conduct the event, the preparation of public administration is just limited to traffic management in the roads. The researchers intended to investigate the spiritual management style of such event where guests act like volunteers. The random sampling was used to conduct the descriptive analytical research to ensure representation of all. A well designed questionnaire was used to collect data from 220 respondents mainly the participants who are simultaneously the guest and hosts. All reading materials were used for secondary data to support or reject various issues of the research. The researchers found that such event management style is a unique one and may be termed as spiritual management because of spontaneous participation and sacrifices of guests in the occasion to make the program a success and satisfy the spiritual need of them. Beyond various limitations, they are ready to do financial sacrifice to ensure the development of the shrine more and to the poor people surrounding that area.
