MARITIME ACTIVITIES: NATURE, FEATURES AND TYPES

Abstract
The article substantiates the need to clarify widely used term «maritime activity» which is given by the «Maritime Doctrine of Ukraine till 2035» and proposed a correct interpretation of this concept. The characteristics of marine activities that are caused by the peculiarities of the marine environment are examined. The necessity of coordination of functioning on sea and coastal zone entities carrying out the same, as well as various types of maritime activities, is proved. Possible kinds of maritime activities are presented. Some existing classifications of maritime economy are analyzed, based on their analysis disadvantages inherent to them are detected. To create the classification scheme of marine species the National Classifier of Ukraine «Classification of economic activities» is proposed to use. The advantages and disadvantages of its use and the possibility of formation based on detailed classification of marine activities are shown.
