Mechanisms for Developing and Enhancing the Production of High Value-Added Innovative Products in Uzbekistan
Journal Title: Journal of Economics, Finance and Management Studies - Year 2025, Vol 8, Issue 06
Abstract
This study explores the mechanisms for developing and enhancing the production of high value-added innovative products in Uzbekistan. The analysis focuses on recent government initiatives such as the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), development of technoparks, investment in the ICT sector, and support for startups. Despite producing industrial goods worth 629.2 trillion UZS in 2024, only 1.3% came from high-tech industries, highlighting the need for further innovation-driven growth. Foreign collaborations, expanding export geography, and increasing startup investments reflect Uzbekistan’s strategic shift towards a knowledge-based economy. The paper concludes that sustained policy support, international cooperation, and investment in human capital are crucial for boosting the share of high value-added industries and ensuring long-term economic competitiveness.
