Method for Quality Cost Production System Implementation
Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2012, Vol 13, Issue 34
Abstract
Today's competitive environment requires industrial companies to find solutions to survive and be profitable. Approaches such as Lean Six Sigma and World Class Manufacturing provide a set of techniques and tools which are technical solutions, but also highlight the role of organizational culture. These systems, developed based on Toyota Production System (TPS), have tried to replicate the success of Toyota, but frequent implementation failures registered leads to the suspicion that the TPS's DNA is not fully understood. Based on the authors' ten years’ experience on production systems implementation, the success of implementation consists in management commitment, a clear plan and sustainable practical application. This paper presents a global method, which describes the necessary steps for successful implementation of a production system for identifying, monitoring and control of non-quality costs in order to reduce them through daily activities and optimization projects.

Kinematic Analysis and Synthesis of Differential Screw Actuator
The paper considers structural and kinematic studies of differential screw actuators. For a distinct type of kinematic chain named Closed Differential Screw Mechanism, consisting of an ordinary gear train and a crew pair...
Rolling Disk Dynamics
The present paper aims to establish the differential equations of the motion for a homogeneous disk, which is rolling upon a rough horizontal plane. The results will prove useful in a future research, when the motion of...
Analytical Modeling of Turbocharger Rotors
Rotordynamics was and still is a high applicability field to all categories of rotating machines. The turbocharger is part of high precision rotating machines. Its rotor, sustained by two categories of bearings, represen...
Computer Aided Design and Production Analysis of Vane Pump
This article represents an approach for CAD/CAM-based development of technological, constructional documentation of a rotational pump regarding its assembling. An approach for computer-based designing and assembling of t...
Improvement of Turning Performance through Statistical Process Control
This work presents some steps related to the implementation of statistical process control on a CNC turning centre. Due to the increasing need for a fast and reliable quality control system and in order to cope with the...
