Abstract
Nowadays, a special attention is needed to determine the tendencies for the formation of a specialist's personality, the search and expediency of outlining the methodological foundations of the empirical study of the personal-professional formation of a Social Work specialist. The formation of a personality of a Social Work specialist is defined as an individual-specific permanent, holistic process of deployment of interconnected and interacting with each other and the world of potentials (personal potential) in the process of realization of socially directed and legally established professional activity, which involves the acquisition of professionalism, the continuous enrichment of the personality of a specialist and professions, filling them with new content, due to the needs for self-determination, life-design, self-regulation, self-development, self-assertion and self-realization in professional activities. The fundamental difficulty in finding a "correct" solution to a problem requires the use of knowledge not only within the framework of one paradigm system, but also accumulated in various, including alternative systems. In this regard, it is worth to assume that the methodological provisions of different approaches should be applied in an integrated form to justify the laws of personal-professional formation of a specialist with certain limitations and additional explanations. The basis for such an integrated approach, in our opinion, can be considered basic methodological positions of personal-activity, subjective, genetic-modeling, axiological and reflexive approaches. The development of the methodology for diagnosing the formation of the personality of a Social Work specialist relies on a conscious active learning by the social workers of their own inner world and the socio-psychological specifics of Social Work, which are directly related to the effective implementation of the multifunctionality of professional activity. The search and isolation of specific forms and methods of research are based on the basic psycho-diagnostic approaches: subjective, objective and projective, which provide a comprehensive diagnosis of the personality development of a Social Work specialist.
