Abstract
The article describes in detail the teaching of auxiliary sciences of history in Wrocław starting from the beginning of the 19th century. The author discusses the state of research and the course schedule related to the auxiliary sciences of history at the University of Wrocław. The author indicates the retreat from classical understood of auxiliary sciences of history, stimulated by Western European universities, as one of the main threats to the education of the historian’s workshop in the area of historical sources.
