Abstract
The article analyzes the state and level of the theoretical and methodological elaboration of the questions of forming the research competence of future engineers of the agrarianprofile and the results of their practical implementation in institutions of higher education, thegeneral problems of forming the research competence of agricultural engineers (problems in the management of education, the content of training, in the professional pedagogical activity of teachers, in motivating students), setting a number of contradictions.
