Modified Mudball-Effective Microorganism as Laundry Wastewater Cleansing Agent

Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2022, Vol 5, Issue 10

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the potential of modified Mudball-EM as a laundry wastewater cleansing agent. T1- 0g Mudball-EM, T2- 25g Mudball-EM, T3- 50g Mudball-EM, T4- 100g Mudball-EM, and T5- 200g Mudball-EM were applied to the laundry wastewater samples. Mudball-EM is used to clean laundry wastewater samples for 120 hours. or 5 days after the application of the treatment. The cleaning of laundry wastewater is measured in terms of pH and dissolved oxygen concentration. It was determined that Mudball-EM with Sweet Potato Peel has the ability to absorb detergent contained in laundry wastewater. Furthermore, T5 (200g Mudball-EM) has the maximum absorption capacity and fastest absorption rate in terms of pH value and DO concentration after treatment. Furthermore, this research was able to generate a feasible solution to the wastewater problem, particularly the discharge of untreated laundry wastewater. The ecofriendly elements used, which are completely biodegradable, contribute to the distinctiveness of the study.
