Monitoring in protected areas of the Ukrainian part of the Eastern Carpathians

Abstract
This article presents the main legal acts regulating environmental monitoring carried out within the boundaries of protected areas in Ukraine as well as the “Chronicles of Nature” as the main tool for its implementation. Monitoring results are presented in two case studies describing the achievements of the two protected areas located in the Ukrainian part of the Eastern Carpathian Mts. – the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve and Skolivske Beskydy National Nature Park.
