МОNOSYNONYMIC SUBORDINATE UTTERANCES OF ASYNDETIC POLYPREDICATIVE CONDITIONAL STRUCTURES (ON THE MATERIAL OF MODERN FRENCH FICTION)

Abstract
In this article the asyndetic polypredicative conditional utterances are defined as subordinative conditional-consecutive or conditional-concessional-consecutive constructions with syntactical synonymy at the level of subordinate clause-one- or two-basic transform of virtual (linguistic) primary proposition of two types: Si + S (nominal subject, substantive) + P (verbal predicate, verb) or Même si + S + P with keeping or non-keeping of linguistic mode of incidence. In the course of the analysis they distinguish: 1) subordinate clauses with predicates in present conditional mood: а) non-inverse structures build on the model S + P; b) elliptic constructions: РN (negative predicate in non-perfect tense of indicative mood); c) synonymic inverse subordinate clauses (P + S); 2) subordinate clauses with predicates in past conditional mood: а) non-inverse and inverse structures with the prime form of conditional mood; b) non-inverse and inverse constructions the second form of conditional mood; c) elliptic negative structures in the third person singular with pluperfect of indicative mood or the second form of conditional mode; 3) conditional-concessional synonymic subordinate clauses: а) S + Р in conditional mood or P in conditional mood + S; b) P in subjunctive modе + S; c) Р in subjunctive mood + S in the atypical аgrammaticated polypredicative structures with indicative mood in the matrix clause. It is revealed that the temporal plan of conditional polypredicative constructions indicates the degree of probability of hypothesis realization: actualization of predicates in indicative mood in the matrix clause denotes the higher probability of event implementation; the present conditional mood and the subjunctive imperfect mood designate the lower probability of realization of the hypothesis; the past conditional mood indicates the zero probability of hypothesis realization. Using inverse reconstruction virtual synonymic series of analyzed discourse innovations are built and by means of «alternative» linguistic experiment the degree of their co(n)textual pertinence is determined.
