MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION APPLIED FOR PLANNING OF REGIONAL EUROPEAN AIRLINE
Journal Title: Archives of Transport - Year 2014, Vol 29, Issue 1
Abstract
Fleet planning is very important elements in the airlines planning process. Fleet planning should answer the question which types of aircraft are required and how many of them are required taking into account the current and future transportation needs. Decision-making in the field of operations has a character of engineering. This process requires consideration of many factors, dependencies and criteria. The article presents the decision problem formulated in the form of a multi-objective mathematical model. This work preliminarily determines the structure of the transportation system which performs carriages on the local routes.

Multi-objective evolutionary method for cargo arrangement in a loading space
The paper characterises a class of problems for packing boxes in the container. It presents the current state of knowledge in this area and distinguishes evolutionary algorithms, as the most promising in the search for q...
An advanced planner for urban freight delivering
The paper aims at introducing an advanced delivery tour planner to support operators in urban delivery operations through a combined approach which chooses delivery bays and delivery time windows while optimizing the del...
Research of Sorting Process of Unit Loads by Rotary Active Fence
The paper presents results of research of a sorting process applied to a stream of unit loads (cubiform objects, parcels) transported on conveyors. The sorting process is performed by means of an active fence (flexible a...
Operational problems of 2+1 bypass road sections
The paper presents several problems of designing trunk-road bypasses of towns, which can be very helpful in improving their traffic performance. Such roads perform supplementary functions to the operation of network of m...
FINITE ELEMENT MODELING OF COMPOSITE CONCRETE-STEEL COLUMNS
This paper presents the numerical part of the research program on concrete-filled steel columns. Nonlinear, three dimensional FE analysis of axial compression, was conducted using the finite element program ABAQUS. The n...
