Abstract

Criticism has an important role in that hadiths are perceived accurately. Thanks to these criticisms, authentic hadiths are distinguished from the ones which did not belong to Prophet Muhammad. Since the early period, hadith scholars have written a variety of works on this issue. One of them is Kitaab at-Tameez by Muslim (died in 261 A.H./875 A.D.). In this study, Muslim’s criticism criteria are determined by providing examples from his work, Kitaab at-Tameez.
