Nanoindentation applied to the study of biomaterials
Journal Title: Recueil de mécanique - Year 2018, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
A biomaterial is a material used and adapted for medical applications. In order to extend the life of the human body, the biomaterial is the alternative most considered by doctors. Metals used as biomaterials have high yield strengths and tensile strengths. In order to characterize the mechanical properties of biomaterials, such as Young's modulus, hardness, contact stiffness, nanoindentation tests have been conducted. In the field of biomechanics, this new non-destructive technique tends to miniaturize specimens experimentally tested, at very small sizes, and reach penetration depths in the impression residual induced by the indentation force, at the nanometer scale. The hardness scale factor values are compatible with absolute hardness. This means that the density of dislocations participates in the deformation process; hence the plastic deformation capacity is dependent on the microstructure.

Temperature evaluation on a transmission by timing belt «Binder magnetic»
Transmissions by synchronous belts combine the advantages of transmissions by single belts (plates, trapezoidal or striated) due to their low weight, their low maintenance, great beaches of linear speeds and big transmis...
The deformation modes of copper alloys under indenter
The instrumented indentation test has been widely used and studied because of the ease it provides for estimating the mechanical properties of materials from the force-displacement curve for miniature material volumes. D...
Analysis of the influence of angular speed on the wear of a trapezoidal toothed timing belt
Timing belts are essential elements in automobile mechanics. Notched and tensioned, the belt allows the engine components to act synchronously. Its function is mainly to drive the crankshaft and the camshaft, which thems...
Efficiency analysis of solar chimney power plant in Tissemsilt city
The present work shows a study of energetic efficiency of a solar chimney power plant (SCPP) destinated for electrical power production in Tissemsilt region. A mathematical modeling of the installation based on PERRIN Br...
Characterization of organic/inorganic perovskite material CH3NH3PbI3 prepared by spray pyrolysis with moving nozzle method
Methylamine lead tri-iodide (MAPbI3 or CH3NH3PbI3) is a promising organic/inorganic perovskite material in photovoltaic applications. It attracted researcher's attention for its good power conversion efficiency that step...
