National idea in the journalism of Volodymyr Birchak: actualization (by the materials of the Berlin newspaper «Ukrainian reality»)

Abstract
The article is the rst attempt in the modern Ukrainian literary studies to consider the journalism of Volodymyr Birchak during the struggle for the restoration of Ukrainian statehood, published in 1940 – 1943 in the Berlin newspaper «Ukrainian reality» («Ukrainische Wirklichkeit» – the print agency of the Ukrainian Community in Germany). The attention is paid to the meaning of the work of the publicist for the formation of the Ukrainian nation, the state views of the younger generation of the enslaved land. Factors that determined the depth of understanding of the situation by Volodymyr Birchak are idented.
