NATO IN THE EVENTS OF THE ARAB SPRING: THE MAIN POSITION, MECHANISMS OF COOPERATION AND CONSEQUENCES

Abstract
In the article the author analyzes the main mechanisms of international cooperation under the leadership of NATO during the settlement of the crisis phenomena that were caused by the events of the Arab spring. Particular attention is paid to the practical implementation of the updated strategy of the Alliance in the implementation of its Middle East policy, especially the concept of cooperative security, activities in the development of coordination mechanisms for the Mediter- ranean Dialogue and the Istanbul Initiative of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
