Abstract
The article discusses the influence of professor Jozef Szymanski on the role of auxiliary sciences of history in didactics of the Institute of History of the Silesian University in Katowice. The author devotes a lot of attention of the series of conferences in Wisła. In didactics of auxiliary sciences of history at the Silesian University, the author focuses on the classical auxiliary sciences of history. In conclusion the author expresses concern about the future of education of historian’s workshop.
