A Data Transmission Technique Based On RSSI in an Ad-HocNetwork

Journal Title: IOSR Journals (IOSR Journal of Computer Engineering) - Year 2015, Vol 17, Issue 1

Abstract

Abstract: In this paper we are proposing an intelligent routing protocol that routes the data from a givensource node and a destination node in an in the floor ad-hoc network. We have used Bluetooth as the medium oftransmission. Our system works in two different ways depending on the size of the packet. There are some predefinedpaths for a set of source and destination nodes. If the packet size is smaller than our threshold value, thesystem follows the static and pre-defined paths. On the other hand, if the packet size exceeds the thresholdvalue, then the system dynamically determines the path in runtime. It calculates the distance of the nearby nodesbased on the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). After that, according to the distance calculated, ittransmits the packet to reach its destination.
