Feature Selection and Extraction for Content-Based Image Retrieval
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Content-Based Image Retrieval is a technique that utilizes the visual content of an image to search for similar images in large scale image databases. The visual content of an image represents the low-level features extracted from the image. These primarily constitute color, shape and texture features. The precision of image classification and image retrieval is mainly based on image feature extraction. More distinguished image features will yield better results in classification and retrieval process. Thus feature selection and feature extraction are the important tasks to be considered in image retrieval process. This paper aims to discuss about feature selection and an efficient method for feature extraction is proposed for image retrieval process.

Inextensible flows of curves in the equiform geometry of the simple isotropic space J[sub][/sub][sub]3[/sub][sup]( I )[/sup]
In this paper, evolution equations for inextensible flows of curves in the simple isotropic space are investigated and necessary and sufficient conditions for simple isotropic inextensible curve flow are expressed as a p...
Effect of Resistance to flow and wall shear stress on axially symmetric artery for Non-Newtonian fluid Model of blood flow through a stenosis
An effort has been made to explore the nonNewtonian behaviour on blood flow through a stenosed artery with Power-law fluid model. Numerical illustration presented at the end of the paper provides the consequences...
On b#-Open Sets
Andrijivic introduced and studied the concept of b-open sets. Following this Bharathi et.al. introduced the concept of b**-open sets. Recently Indira et.al. studied the notions of *b-open sets and **b-open sets. In this...
Fixed points for α-ᴪ Contractive Mapping in 2-Metric spaces
In this paper, we introduce the notion of α-ᴪ contractive type mappings in 2-metric spaces and establish fixed point theorems for these mappings.
Influence of Non-Selective Harvesting and Prey Reserve Capacity on Prey-Predator Dynamics
In the present paper, we have developed a simple two species prey-predator model in which the prey dispersal in a two patch environment, one is assumed to be a free hunting zone and the other is a reserved zone where hun...
