Forecasting Stream Flow in Floodplain by Utilizing Hydrological and Statistical Relationship in the Sepidroud Catchments
Journal Title: Caspian Journal of Applied Sciences Research - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 11
Abstract
In the present study hydro-meteorological data of 5 years (2004-2008) have been used for determining stream flow in Sepidroud watersheds (North of Iran-Guilan). 4 years of hydro-meteorological data (2004-2007) were used to determine correlation, lag-cross correlations and regression analyses between daily mean discharge and daily rainfall. Then 1 year data (2008) was used to estimate and compare the discharge using established relationship. The analysis suggests a much adopted correlation (R =0.88) between discharge and rainfall. Therefore the relationship can be used for filling the missing discharge data as well as prediction discharge.
