 FORMATION THE STRATEGIC SET OF FORESTRY ENTERPRISES

Abstract

 The article proves the necessity to develop the existing approaches to the formation of the strategy set of forestry enterprises. Taking into consideration the fact that production activity of forestry enterprises in contrast to enterprises of other economic sectors in most cases is based on natural resources utilization, in particular the use of forest resources, it becomes significant to involve environmental safety strategies (environmental strategies) into the strategy set of forestry enterprises. It will ensure environmental safety of the material impact on forest resources which are a vital component of the global environmental balance. At present the most effective and long-term business activity of forestry enterprises is export production. On the assumption of this fact environmental safety strategies of export production must become an integral part of environmental strategy of forestry enterprises. When determining the place and role of environmental safety strategies in the general strategy set of a forestry enterprise the following issues must be taken into consideration: natural systems of every geographical region have their own ecological potential, stability level and capacity for regeneration and the same anthropogenic load intensity, namely export production, may cause different levels of ecosystem imbalance; export activities of forestry enterprises are related not only to production of export output but also to the sale of finished products on foreign market, and fierce international competition may, in many cases, lead to the desire to take advantage of valuable wood species and usage of such species for export output production; environmental strategies of export activities are formed in terms of legislative environment according to the norms and requirements to the use of natural resources, their conservation and regeneration. When developing environmental strategies it is important to take into account the fact that in most cases a forestry enterprise extracts different volumes and types of wood resources from different ecological bodies that may have certain environmental and social impact. Thus, export production is of poli-productive nature and, accordingly, this poli-productive nature makes it necessary to form “environmental safety strategy portfolio of export activities of environmental bodies” as the complex of environmental safety strategies of environmental bodies of an enterprise that is influenced by export activity. The general strategy of environmental safety of export production is formed on the basis of the optimization of the “environmental safety strategy portfolio of export activities of environmental bodies”.
