THE EFFECTS OF LEADERSHIP STYLE, REWARD AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC SERVANTS IN THE RESIDENCE OF POSO

Abstract

 The study was conducted in order to test and analyze: 1) The effects of leadership style on the performance of Public Servants in the Residence of Poso; 2) The effects of reward on the performance of Public Servants in the Residence of Poso; 3) The effects of career development on the performance of Public Servants in the Residence; and 4) Reward is a dominant variable in affecting the performance. Analyses method used in the study was a double-regression quantitative method testing both validity and reliability tests from each variable asked as well as classical assumption test before the best model of study obtained. Variables of the study are leadership style, reward and career development as independent variables and performance as dependent variable of the study. Sample of the study were all – 55 people - of public servants of Local Employment Agency in the residence of Poso. Results of the study showed that: 1. The variable of leadership style has a significant effect on the performance of public servants; 2. The variable of reward has no significant effect on the performance of public servants; 3. The variable of career development has significant effects on the performance of public servants; and 4. Of the three independent variables that been studied, leadership style, reward, and career development, the last variable is the most significant in affecting the performance of public servants of Local Employment Agency in the Residence of Poso.
