The impact of European Union Emission Trading Scheme on corporate financial decisions

Abstract
The aim of the article was to synthesize existing international studies on the impact of the European Emissions Trading Scheme on the value of the companies, their innovation, competitiveness and employment. The first part shows the stages of implementation of the EU ETS as well as explain why Polish companies are among the most vulnerable to the negative effects of EU environmental policy. In the second part the foreign studies have been synthesized. Due to the different characteristics of the enterprise were divided into two groups, energy companies and the industry. Because of the EU ETS is the common system of the European Union, the conclusions of the synthesis can be carried out as reference point for Polish companies decision covered by trading scheme, as well as the starting point for the future Polish research.
