USE OF CALCIUM HYDROXIDE IN ENDODONTIC TREATMENT

Abstract
Calcium hydroxide was introduced in dental practice as a direct pulp capping material, but today its use has expanded upto endodontics being one of the substances most commonly used in the treatment of living and devitalized teeth. In endodontics calcium hydroxide is mostly used for its bactericidal effect on microorganisms present in the infected root canal.
