Value As A Premise for Investing? Government Pension Fund Global As Shareholder in A Portfolio Company

Abstract
This paper examines the issue of sovereign wealth funds and universal owners. The main aim of the article was to analyse financial indicators, deter-mining level of capital invested by GPFG in selected companies. The sample consisted of 38 Polish public companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange, the data were collected for year 2012. The empirical analysis was conducted using correlation coefficient. The results of research show statistically significant cor-relation between level of invested capital and total assets, value of company, book value and market capitalization. The empirical results also suggest that EBIT, EBITDA, net profit are important factors in determining how much to invest.
