New principles of classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) and changes in the safety data sheets of substances and mixtures - Materials for the XIV Nationwide Conference „Trends of Environmental Development in the Chemical Industry”

Abstract
In the article a structure of the regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 has been described. Then the purpose and advantages of the mentioned above regulation and its scope of application including exemptions have been discussed. In this range the obligations of producers, importers, downstream users and distributors have been shown. The time schedule of this regulation entering into force has been discussed and then the most essential elements have been described. In the authors’ opinion the most important nowadays recommendations have been communicated including the need of necessary changes in the safety data sheets.
