NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS IN CARDIOLOGY AFTER SURGICAL INTERVENTION

Abstract

This article examines key aspects of epidemiology, prevention, microbiology, diagnosis, and treatment of the most significant postoperative infectious complications in cardiac surgery. Modern approaches to controlling and rational use of antimicrobial agents are highlighted as one of the most effective strategies for reducing morbidity and mortality associated with nosocomial infections. Special attention is given to the necessity of implementing comprehensive prevention measures and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
