O potrzebie utworzenia metropolitalnych organizacji turystycznych

Abstract
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie argumentów uzasadniających potrzebę utworzenia metropolitalnych organizacji turystycznych o specjalnym statusie organizacji odpowiedzialnych za promocję i rozwój turystyki w Polsce. Należą do nich: zależność rozwoju turystyki od innych funkcji społeczno-gospodarczych miasta, natura turystyki wielkomiejskiej, szeroki zakres zadań miejskich organizacji turystycznych, korporacyjny styl zarządzania, działalność convention bureau, orientacja międzynarodowa w planowaniu rozwoju, powszechne funkcjonowanie miejskich organizacji turystycznych w praktyce w Europie oraz trudności w ich bieżącym funkcjonowaniu w polskich warunkach organizacyjno-prawnych.
